Best Crypto Algo Trading Platforms in India: How to Choose
How to compare crypto algo trading platforms in India: the four kinds of tool, eight checks before you connect an API key, and where AlgoPulse fits.
There is no single best crypto algo trading platform in India. The right one depends on two things: whether you want to design your own strategy or run one that is already built, and which exchange your money is on. This guide gives you a way to compare the options yourself, and is open about the fact that we build one of them.
The four kinds of platform
1. Tools built into an exchange
Several Indian exchanges now offer their own automation. Delta Exchange India, for example, promotes an algo hub with a visual strategy builder, an assistant that helps write API code, and a marketplace of ready-made strategies. Built-in tools need no third-party API key, which is a real advantage. They work only on that exchange.
2. Strategy builders and backtesters
These let you define your own rules without code, test them on past data, and then automate them. AlgoTest, well known among Indian options traders, describes crypto backtesting and automation through Delta Exchange for BTC and ETH. This kind of tool is the right choice if you already have a strategy idea and want to test it properly.
3. Pre-built strategy platforms
The strategies are already written and backtested; you pick one and deploy it. This is where AlgoPulse sits. The trade-off is clear: you get started quickly and do not need to design anything, and in exchange you run the strategies on offer instead of your own.
4. Code it yourself
Every exchange in this guide publishes an API, and open-source frameworks exist to build on. This gives total control and costs nothing in fees to a platform. It also makes you the developer, the tester and the person who gets the alert at 3 a.m. when the server stops.
Eight things to check before you connect an API key
- Exchange support: does it connect to the exchange you actually use, and to futures or spot as you need?
- API key permissions: it should need trade permission only. Withdrawal access is never required for trading.
- The full backtest: can you see drawdown, number of trades and the period tested, or only a headline return?
- How the backtest treats costs: are trading fees included? A result without fees flatters every active strategy.
- Pricing: free, subscription, or a share of profits? Is a card needed to start?
- Where it runs: on their servers around the clock, or on your own machine?
- What you can see live: open positions, each trade, and a clear message when an order fails.
- Who is behind it: a contact page, terms, a privacy policy and a plain statement of risk.
Where AlgoPulse fits
AlgoPulse is a free, no-code platform that runs pre-built strategies on crypto perpetual futures. In its own words:
- Exchanges: Delta Exchange India, CoinDCX, Pi42, Shark Exchange, CoinSwitch PRO and Bybit. Each has a page under supported exchanges.
- Price: free, with no subscription and no card. The exchange still charges its own trading fees. What free covers is set out on one page.
- Strategies: pre-built, each with a multi-year backtest you can read before deploying.
- Keys: trade-only. Funds stay on your exchange and cannot be withdrawn through AlgoPulse.
- Running: on our servers, so nothing needs to stay switched on at your end.
Where AlgoPulse is not the right choice
- You want to build your own strategy. AlgoPulse has no strategy builder; you run the published strategies.
- You trade stocks or equity F&O. AlgoPulse does not connect to Zerodha, Groww, Dhan or Angel One. It automates crypto futures only.
- You want spot trading. The strategies trade perpetual futures, long and short, with leverage.
- Your exchange is not on the list. Binance and WazirX, for instance, are not connected.
A quick way to decide
- "I have my own rules and want to test them": a strategy builder and backtester.
- "I only use one exchange and it has its own tools": try the exchange's built-in automation first.
- "I want automation without designing a strategy": a pre-built strategy platform.
- "I can program and want full control": the exchange API directly.
Questions people ask
Which crypto algo trading platform is free in India?
Pricing differs by provider and changes often, so check each one's pricing page. AlgoPulse is free with no paid tier. Whichever platform you choose, the exchange's own trading fees still apply.
Is it safe to give a platform my API key?
It is as safe as the key's permissions. Create the key with trading enabled and withdrawal disabled, restrict it to the platform's server IP if your exchange allows, and delete it on the exchange if you stop using the platform.
Can a platform guarantee returns?
No, and any that claims to should be avoided. A backtest shows how rules behaved on past prices. It is evidence for a decision, not a promise about the future.
